“From one man he has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live. He did this so that they might seek God, and perhaps they might reach out and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.”
Acts 17:26–27
In the scripture above we see that a sovereign God places each person in each community. Let that sink in for a moment… God has placed YOU in our church. More than that, the blood of Christ, secured you there, and the Holy Spirit is preserving your place there. Let’s look at this considering a homegroup.
When you join a homegroup, it’s not an accident. God planned for you and every other person to be there; and His blood means that you don’t have to be anyone but you. Think about the freedom that gives us! If God picked me, Gus, (with all my flaws, issues, past traumas, stress, quirkiness, and dad jokes) to join a homegroup, why would I think that I need to be anybody but Gus? Thankfully, God is working on my flaws, issues, past traumas, etc. (except for the dad jokes, those He approves of); but I can be honest about where I am with those in my homegroup because there is security in the freedom that God provides.
This year, please join me in praying that the people of our church would realize the freedom through the community that God securely provides, and they would desire to experience more of that through a homegroup.
Pray with us 6/2/24
