At Citychurch, everything revolves around our one sentence purpose statement: to extend the glory of God by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ. This vision translates for us into three key values; gospel, community, and mission. Our weekly updates are designed to keep this focus.
A wonderful quote to remember, “The Bible that is falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.” (Vance Havner).

Please offer up a special prayer for LIam, Raphael & Heidi’s youngest child. He spilled hot coffee on himself on Sunday night and had to be taken to the Lehigh Valley Burn Center. The early reports are favorable, thank God, but please keep the little guy in your prayers.
This week our Home Groups will be meeting on different days and at five locations! Remember to read ahead in the book of Ruth to join in the discussion. Remember that the sermons on this Ruth series can be heard online!
Church membership at Citychurch is taken very seriously. We are preparing for a new group to join the church and invite you to consider. For those who wish to be baptized, or for those who have been baptized and wish to join in a “Discover Citychurch” class for church membership, please sign up at the Welcome Table in the Foyer or contact the church office, firstname.lastname@example.org.
The exciting LEGACY youth ministry continues to grow! It meets at the church on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm. All teens in grades 6-12 are invited!

During WWII, Winston Churchill remarked about the RAF pilots, “Never has so much been owed by so many to so few.” Citychurch is getting close to this situation. We have few doing very, very much, and we implore those who have not volunteered for some area of ministry to seriously consider stepping up. Please talk to Pastor Earl or Elders Earl or Larry on Sunday, or contact the church office (570) 323-9847 / email: email@example.com to learn of possible ministry opportunities.
Continuing with the series on “Prayers to Pray Before Church,” we offer this prayer for the Lord to deepen your faith and joy in the glories of the gospel. “Father, you know the multitude of sins I have committed in my life and even this past week. Help me hate my sin more and grow in grace as I contemplate what Christ has done to forgive me and free me from sin’s death grip. Open the eyes of my heart to see the glorious hope we have in Christ, your love for all saints, and your power at work in us who believe (Ephesians 1:18-21). Cause my heart to burn within me as we celebrate the gospel in song, learn and apply the gospel through the preached Word, and see the gospel in baptism and communion. In Jesus Name — Amen.”
